Retreats

Our Retreats department serves a large variety of groups seeking to find a special place to depart from their normal, everyday routines. Groups come to Bradford Woods for our natural environment – including our 110-acre lake, peaceful forested hills, and wildlife. Or they come because our facilities are universally designed and accessible to people of all abilities and backgrounds. Or they come because we’re a convenient location between Indianapolis and Bloomington and have a large variety of meeting and lodging spaces. In 2019, 174 groups visited Bradford Woods for their corporate trainings, departmental retreats, scrapbooking weekends, family reunions, holiday parties, meetings, and more.

Trilogy goes Glamping

This year, we were happy to welcome Trilogy Health Services' "Trilogy Goes Glamping" event, an overnight retreat for seniors living in Trilogy's system of assisted living centers. Our accessible cabins and activities are perfect for all ages -- this year, we even put our oldest-ever participant on the universal zipline at age 90.

This year, we welcomed Comfort Zone Camp, a camp put on by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation that serves as a bereavement retreat for children of fallen firefighters. We also hosted our 11th year of Mickey’s Camp, a philanthropic and networking camp founded by Indianapolis businessman Mickey Maurer that provides donations to a number of local charities – including Bradford Woods. We also continue to work with a number of regular, returning IU departments, including IU’s session-based Management Training Series (MTS).

Moving forward, we continue to look for opportunities to provide top-notch lodging, AV-ready meeting spaces, and inclusive programming through our universally accessible facilities to guests from a variety of organizations and backgrounds.
