Outdoor Education Open House
These open houses are designed for anyone interested in our Outdoor Education Programs and to see our facility and talk with staff prior to engaging in an experience. We offer these once each spring and fall at the beginning of the season. Students love coming with their families to hike along the trails, check out the dining hall and a cabin, hit a target or two at archery, and to see the giant amphitheater complete with a welcoming campfire. Parents appreciate the opportunity to see staff in action and be able to ask questions of our leadership team. This is also the perfect time for prospective schools to come and visit and discuss program options as well as those Interested in our open enrollment camps such as Maple Syrup Camp or our summer Environmental Explorers Camps.
For over 60 years we have been offering Outdoor Education programs with curriculum aligned with state standards in math, science, history, language arts, and more. Our longest-standing partnerships have been with Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) as well as the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville (MSDM). We also serve schools as far North as Lake County and the Chicagoland area and to the South across state lines into Kentucky. We offer anything from day programs to overnight residential programs with the 3 day/2-night option being the most popular. Our experienced instructors can provide any or all of the programming needs. Our staff are highly educated and have academic and other experience in environmental education, sustainability, conservation, watersheds, animal science, geology, recreation therapy, public health and more.
We hope to see you at one of our next open houses!
